Apert Syndrome: Update on Cayden, a year and a half after Lefort III Halo Distraction
Cayden was born with Apert Syndrome and Dr. Schmelzer performed a Lefort III Halo distraction in the Summer of 2010. He is now about a year and half post op and doing well. His mom reports that his sleep apnea is gone as he now breaths normally at night. He no longer snores and can eat normally. He is very active and can’t get enough of playing with his siblings and friends.
Notice the difference in his before and most recent after pictures above. Before his face was concave, but now it is forward and has more of a rounded shape with great cheeks. As he gets older he will continue to grow into his new facial shape. Check back periodically for more pictures as Cayden continues to mature!
